FAQs

  • Owl from An Amazing Afternoon Adventure with Arlo

What age group are your books for?

My children’s books are crafted to delight young readers and listeners roughly in the 4-8 years age range. They’re ideal for shared storytime, early independent reading, and bedtime routines. Each title’s product page includes the recommended age or reading level for clarity and some instruction for older narrators with content expansion concepts for discussion and questions.

Where can I buy your books?

While you can explore my full catalogue here on johncaydenbooks.com, the actual purchase happens via trusted retailers (such as Amazon and other major book-sellers). Simply click the “Available Here” button on a book’s page and you’ll be directed to the retailer to complete a purchase.

Do you offer hardcover, paperback or digital editions?

Yes — depending on the title, you’ll typically find paperback and hardcover editions at the retailer. No titles are available in eBook format yet and I am actively looking for beta testers for ebook formatting. Each book’s page will note which formats are available.

    When will my book ship?

Shipping times depend on the retailer you choose. Since purchases are fulfilled by the retailer, you’ll see shipping information and expected delivery times on their product page. I recommend reviewing the retailer’s shipping policy directly.

Can I get signed copies or special editions?

Occasionally I may offer signed copies, special-edition prints, or bundled sets. When these are available they will be announced on my website or the retailers “Special Offers” section. If no special edition is currently listed, the retailer listings reflect the standard editions. I try to do book signings, but I do have another job to pay bills, so my time is very limited. You can always ship to me and I will happily sign your books.

    How are your illustrations created?

Every piece of artwork in my books is fully hand-illustrated by me, using professional digital painting tools such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. I do not use AI-generated art. Instead, each illustration begins with a concept, inspiration or hand-drawn sketch, which is then carefully refined, colored and then textured.

    ·       Each character, scene and color palette is custom-designed to match the tone and story, giving the artwork a unique and handcrafted feel.

    ·       Because I control every step in the process—from concept sketch through to final polish—it ensures visual consistency, expressive detail and a branded look to resonate with younger readers.

  • Are your books available for libraries or schools?

Yes — all of my titles are available through major retail channels that supply libraries and schools. If you’re a teacher, librarian or school purchaser and would like bulk-order information, classroom lists or printable preview pages, please visit our “For Educators” section or reach out via the Contact form.

  • Do you offer free downloadable content?

Yes! I believe in adding value beyond the story. On my “Extras” page you’ll find free printable bookmarks, coloring sheets, activity pages and other fun printables related to the characters and themes of the books. These are free for personal, non-commercial use (for home, school, or library settings).
